La La Land - Film review

La La Land is a modern musical mixed together perfectly with elements of classic Hollywood. Everything about the film was perfect. The choreography was stunning both with the dancing and camera movement, all of the colours that were chosen in the costume and set design complimented each other perfectly and brought the world to life vividly. The acting from all the members of the cast was completely perfect and I don't think that the film could have been cast any better than it was. From a technical stand point I thought film was incredibly smooth and flowed perfectly from beginning to end, the use of montages to show the passage of time conveyed the character development and did a great job of showing you just how their relationships had moved forward in a short amount of time. The end of the film was a heart breaking moment that gave the audience the classic Hollywood ending that they had longed for, before shooting them down and dragging them back into the real world, to make you realise that you cant have everything that you've ever wanted. If you want to achieve your dreams you have to compromise somewhere along the way.
If I was asked to describe this film in one word it would be "Elegant".
