Throughout the week we have continued to create the
preproduction work that is required for our music video. We have almost
completed all of the work that is need and plan to finish anything that isn’t
completed before our first filming session on Monday the 9th of
November. I have personally been going round each member of the team and
providing help with anything that was required. For the majority of the time I
have been working on casting, shots lists and the story board, I have been
working on these things so that I can best create our music video in the way I
imagined it. Everyone chipped in on how to make the music video better and
together we have came up with some really good and imaginative ideas. I have
also worked on contracts for our crew and the actors and have organised one of
our filming locations.
So far we have filmed half of our music video and have one
more day of filming left before we have all of our required footage, I would
say that tonight was fairly successful even though one of our actors dropped
out i few hours before filming was supposed to start and I had to fill in the part. Although this was not great for the production process, it was our only option and had to happen. The story of the businessman who had to leave for work overseas and the old
man who was passing away is done, now all we have left to do is film the main
focus of the video. The soldier who is leaving to go to war
Although we have not completed all of our filming I have used my time to organise all the footage that we currently have. I have organised all of our footage into bins, renamed it and re watched the footage to locate any bad pieces. I spent this time trying to see if there was any continuity errors or issues with the footage that would make it unusable. Once this footage found it was removed. We have also now finished all preproduction work. Although this took longer than we thought I believe that it will have been completed to a higher standard compared to if we had rushed it.
We have now completed all of our filming for the music video. Due to the fact that I did not have to act during the second shoot I believe that I was much more successful in my role as a director. I was able to direct shots that better captured what I had imagined. Overall I think that the second shoot was much more successful than the first. We managed to gather some great footage that was very well set up. Now all that is left to do is to edit together the music video and create the final product. Then the process will be complete.
